About this Event
In this three-day workshop over three weeks – April 9, 16, & 23, 6-9 pm – Annalise Rubida will teach you to make an elegant Windsor Stool using many of the basic skills needed for chair making. Using pre-turned leg and stretcher components you will be guided through tapered and angled mortise & tenon joinery as well as seat carving techniques traditional to Windsor chair making. This class is for beginner and intermediate woodworkers – you may bring your own tools if you have them, but tooling will be provided if needed.
Annalise Rubida is a fine furniture maker from Port Townsend, Washington. She loves combining machine and hand-tool woodworking practices and is just as happy with a drawknife as she is a table saw. With a background in fine furniture and chairmaking, Annalise's own work focuses on functional and sculptural pieces that bring joy to use. Her goal in teaching is to create an environment where people have the guidance and comfort to experiment with new concepts and grow their love for woodworking.
