This class will be taught by Norfolk Wood Shop owner, James Brooks and Keith Holder. They will go over the uses of epoxy in woodworking, how to mix it, curing times, and processes for finishing. Each duo will get to pick the wood pieces they want to use for their board, determine layout, choose their mica powder pigment color, and mix their own epoxy. Once you have mixed your epoxy, you will pour it into the mold, and learn how to prevent bubbles in your epoxy. While the epoxy sets up, you will learn the process of finishing your boards once the epoxy has cured. At the end of the event, we will tag each duo’s board with name and number, so that once the boards have fully cured, they can be picked up from us here at Norfolk Wood Shop. Before pick up, Norfolk Wood Shop will plane the boards down between .75" and 1" thickness, so they are ready to sand and finish upon pickup. Tickets include all materials and supplies needed for the charcuterie project. You'll get to choose from a variety of woods and dyes and mica colors.
Date: June 29th at 1pm. Please try to show up about ten minutes early.
Approximate length of class: 3 hours.
