WOODWORK WORKSHOP SERIES
We are excited to have local carpenter Em returning to Kairos with a series of 4x woodwork workshops! This block is suitable for beginners* - anyone who has an interest in making a small project using wood and hand tools (and possibly some power tools), and is free for all women+. Tools and materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own wood if you have a project in mind. These workshops will involved using tools but we can provide support if you aren't comfortable with tools independently.
Dates for the block: Thursday 6th June, 13th June, 20th June & 27th June 6-8pm.
Booking: Book on Eventbrite. Contact [email protected] to find out more or book a Welcome Meeting with a member of the team.
Food & drinks: we have snacks & hot drinks available for free, including lots of herbal teas, and there’s a free food pantry in the corridor. Please speak to a staff member if you are hungry, we always have sandwich ingredients in.
Pantry & Free Shop: In our corridor, grab something from the free shop – clothes, toiletries, household items. Or why not see what you can find in the pantry? Lots of items to fill your cupboards.
Children: This group isn’t suitable for children. You are welcome to bring children to the Creative Cafe, Community Soup or Walking & Wheeling groups. All children must be supervised by a parent/caregiver. We have a designated kids’ corner in the pink room.
Transport: We are a 12-minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Station and the main bus routes. There is a large car park in front of the building. We will need your registration number on arrival when you sign in for free parking.
Note on the space: we are based in the Embroidery Mill, directly across from Morrisons car park. We’re the mill building without the tall tower nearby.
Accessibility information: our space is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom. Go to our Accessibility & Inclusion page for more information.
Sensory information: This space will be loud as we're using tools but a quiet space to take time out is available. We use lamps in our spaces to reduce sensory overwhelm and fidget toys are available.
*this is a women+ only workshop, inclusive of trans women and non-binary people
