About this Event
Join us for a Woodshop 101 by YXE Wood Select class where you learn to make your own charcuterie board! This is a two part course, please read dates below. In this course you will learn all safety and operation for woodshop tools in the Makerspace shop giving you Makerspace Woodshop Certification while learning the basics of epoxy forming and pouring, all included in the construction of a live edge wooden and epoxy charcuterie board!
This class has two days that are required.
November 15th
November 22nd
On the first day you will learn about woodshop tools and equipment (mitre saw, table saw, band saw, drill press, jointer, and planer), the basic process of making the charcuterie board, prepping the board, building and prepping the forms, placement of the wood, and finally the epoxy pouring.
On the second day you will remove the forms, plane and sand boards, and learn about coating and finishing the boards.
At the end of the class you will have your Woodshop 101 certification, allowing you to come back to Makerspace to use the woodshop in the future, and will get to take home a custom charcuterie board that you made yourself!
Each board will be approximately 12"x16" in size, but may vary from board to board depending on wood availability.
