About this Event
Join us for a woodpecker adventure! This fun, hands-on workshop is perfect for kids and families who love the outdoors and want to learn more about common woodpeckers in Kentucky. We’ll start with a short presentation all about Kentucky’s woodpeckers, how to spot them, what they eat, and where they live. Then we'll roll up our sleeves to build nest boxes that we will use to create nesting habitat on KSU campus.
Enjoy bird-themed crafts and activities inside or grab some hot cocoa before an optional guided walk down Thorobred Trail to learn about woodpecker habitat, listen for their calls, and explore where nesting boxes can be placed.
