Woodlands Animal Sanctuary, West Lancashire's only multi-species rescue centre, are delighted to be opening the doors to our second community hub in Chorley this Saturday, extending a lifeline to families struggling to care for their pets during the ongoing cost of living crisis. The new hub at Market Street will provide a pet food bank, affordable pre-loved goods, and animal welfare education – all with proceeds supporting the sanctuary's rescue work across Northwest England. The official opening at 10am on Saturday will feature appearances from some of the sanctuary's rescue animals, with Britain's Got Talent comedian and juggler Steve Royle cutting the ribbon alongside other special guests.
The Chorley location holds special significance for us, with several trustees and volunteers calling the town home. Taking over the former RSPCA shop premises, we aim to fill the gap left by the closure while maintaining vital animal welfare support in the community
