About this Event
Join us for a day of Woodland Management and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!
We will be coppicing hazel trees. This involves cutting the trees to ground level, which in turn encourages new growth. This process opens the canopy and allows more light to filter through to ground level. It also rejuvenates the individual tree(s) and increases their lifespan! We are carrying out this work to maintain a healthy and sustainable habitat that supports local wildlife and the surrounding community.
All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day - you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for adults.
