Sutro Stewards is embarking on an ambitious project to restore a seasonal creek on the eastern slope of Mount Sutro.
Join us as we explore the work in progress at Woodland Canyon Creek , and hear the vision for a functional, healthy ecosystem that will result from the restoration project.
Walk Leaders: Staff from Sutro Stewards, Nature in the City, and BioStudio
This walk will be led by the team that is planning and implementing the Woodland Canyon Creek restoration.
Details:
The walk will be up and back, starting at the Historic Trail Trailhead. We will be on a dirt trail with a 350 foot elevation gain.
Preparation:
Wear sturdy shoes with good treads, and bring a walking stick if that helps you with stability! Layers are always recommended.
Meeting Location:
Meet at the Historic Trailhead at Stanyan and 17th Street.
Transportation:
Neighborhood parking is available, and several Muni lines pass close to this spot including the 43 Masonic.
Weather:
This walk will occur rain or shine but will cancel if the surface winds are forecasted to be over 18mph. We will send out an announcement the morning of the walk if we decide to cancel.
Cost:
This walk is FREE to attend (with RSVPs kindly requested).
Donations (in cash) can be made to Nature in the City on the day of the event. Special bonus! Everyone who donates $10 and above will receive a copy of the Nature in the City Map .
