In this course from Rockler Seattle, students will learn to start their journey as woodcarvers by learning the basics in knife carving techniques. In this class, we will cover knife safety, basic knife sharpening and honing, skills in recognizing and working varieties of woodgrain, and basic patterning and layout techniques. Students can expect to leave with their own hand carved butter spreaders that will be ready to be put to use in their own kitchen.This is a foundation class for other carving classes. Price includes a Morakniv Woodcarving knifeSafety Measures We’re Taking to Keep You SafeSocial Distancing - All of our classes have a low capacity of attendees and will allow for social distancing.Sanitization - Our classrooms, seating areas, and tools are cleaned and disinfected before and after every class. We also have hand sanitizer and disinfectant available to be used during all classes.Masks - Masks are only required to be worn if required by local ordinances. If you prefer to wear a mask, you can bring your own. If you forget to bring a mask we can provide one free of charge. Gloves - Gloves will be provided free of charge if any classes require tools to be shared by multiple attendees during the same class. This is not a common occurrence and most of the time, attendees are provided their own tools to use.FAQsWhere can I contact the organizer with any [email protected] or call your local store.Are there any age requirements to participate in the class?This class is only for attendees, who are 18 years of age or older. To schedule a class for an attendee, who is under the age of 18, please contact your local store for details.Do I need any safety equipment or special clothing?Safety glasses will be provided free of charge. No loose clothing should be worn, long sleeves need to be rolled up, long hair needs to be tied back. No open-toed shoes can be worn during classes.Can I cancel if I can't make it?If you wish to cancel, you must do so 7 days before the class start date in order to be eligible for a refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations within 7 days of the class start date. Refunds will not include Eventbrite's fees.
