Wood spirit carving is a type of folk art that involves the creation of small wooden figurines. These figures are often carved from a single piece of wood and depict human or animal faces. In this 2-part class, we will use basic wood carving techniques to create a wood spirit face out of a 1 1/4” X 5” piece of basswood. In a step-by-step process, we will bring the face to life. All tools, materials and safety gear will be provided. If you have your own knife, please feel free to bring it.
