Learn basic wood turning and walk home with your unique candlestick!This session includes an introduction to the wood lathe including setup, chisels, setting up blanks and how to do spindle work between centers. The blanks will be premade, this course focuses on the Lathe safety orientation for Yukonstruct users but both members and non-members, regardless of whether they have taken our woodshop orientation, are encouraged to join.
Closed-toed shoes are required. Wear well-fitting clothes that can get dirty. Safety glasses will be worn at all times in the shop, if you have your own or prescription Z87-rated eyewear please bring it but we will have safety glasses and overglasses on hand to wear.
