About this Event
Should you use oil-based finish, water-based finish, or lacquer? Should you color the wood using stain or dye, or leave it natural? Should you apply your finish using a rag, brush, or sprayer? What are food-safe finishes for cutting boards and kitchen tools?
In this hands-on workshop we help provide you with clear guidelines to make navigating these complex questions a little easier. Each participant will get hands-on practice with proper sanding and wood preparation techniques, applying a finish using rags and brushes, using stain to color your wood, and seeing how different finishes react with several types of wood. All supplies and practice materials will be provided.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop meets for two sessions on consecutive Sundays, January 18 & 25, 1:00-5:00PM.
