Wonders 50th Anniversary Community Conversation
A Panel Discussion led by Journalist Rebecca Gale
To kick off our 50th celebration, Wonders is hosting a community conversation to reflect on the past 50 years of child care locally and nationally. We will discuss trends, policy, and system changes from our various perspectives. We invite the community to join us for this discussion as we reflect on the past and envision a future for child care in our community.
Panelists:
- Jennifer Arnaiz, Senior Administrator, DHHS Early Childhood Services
- Fran Simon, founder of Engagement Strategies, LLC (former Wonders administrator)
- Joanne Hurt, Executive Director of Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day
About us:
Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day is a nonprofit service provider of and licensed early childhood education, licensed before and after school care, and licensed summer camp programs. Our child-centered, hands-on approach reflects careful planning, educational expertise, and the dedication of our educators. We support today’s workforce while nurturing the workforce of tomorrow.
Since our inception in 1976, our goal has been to provide nonprofit, high-quality child care to working families. We have grown from a single center in the basement of All Saints’ Church in Chevy Chase, MD, to multiple accredited early learning, extended day, and summer camp programs across Montgomery County, MD, and Washington, DC.
