About Wellington Young Actors & Wonderplay
Wellington Young Actors are an award-winning, dedicated group of rangatahi aged 12–18 who train in creating, producing, and performing theatre. They’re currently fundraising for Ophelia Thinks Harder by Jean Betts (8 November, Lower Hutt Little Theatre) and their secret WYA NZ Fringe 2026 project in February!
Wonderplay teaches imaginative and playful drama to children aged 5–13 in Island Bay, Wellington City, and Lower Hutt. Our classes give kids the chance to explore the magic of theatre, build confidence, and bring their ideas to life on stage. This year, Wonderplay proudly presents Pinocchio (9 November, Lower Hutt Little Theatre), a tribute to Carlo Collodi’s original text — full of colour, comedy, and heart — featuring over 60 children from across Wellington.
