About this Event
Join Goodwood Museum & Gardens and The Little Mercies for an evening of old-time music that will transport you from the mountains of Appalachia to the swamps of middle Florida.
Underneath Goodwood's ancient oaks, the trio of singing and songwriting multi-instrumentalists will introduce you to their signature style accompanied by the fiddle and banjo.
Bronwyn Chelette (bass and banjo) produces a sound that recalls the high, lonesome mountains of the Appalachians and the deep, still waters of the Florida swamps.
Shanice Richard's (fiddle, guitar, and dance) experience in reggae, hip-hop, jazz, and traditional gospel flavors her playing of old-time tunes with soulful vocals and a unique, genre-jumping improvisatory sound.
Rosalee Walsh's (fiddle, banjo, and dance) roots as an old-time and bluegrass fiddler and training as a classical chamber musician have led her to create intentional and conscious arrangements that blend genres.
Together, they present traditional music with authenticity and innovation alongside originals that draw from their musical upbringings and experiences.
With original songs to make you feel all the feelings, reinterpreted traditionals, and fiddle solos to give you happy feet, The Litte Mercies' love for music and joy in playing together will surely make you laugh, smile, and dance through the night.
Please no BYOB or coolers at this event - camp chairs and blankets are welcome!
Two food trucks will be on-site to provide food for the evening.
