Mark your calendars for the celebration of Women’s History Month, with featured artist, Mark David Prouse, Artist Meet and Greet with Sultry Jazz with Lady Pat & Mary Bell Benefitting North Beach Art and Charity 501C3, to be held on Thursday, March 21st from 6-9 p.m., North Beach Art Gallery Galt Ocean Plaza, 3334 NE 34th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308.North Beach Art and Charity 501C3 was founded by supporters of the arts in our community to host events and use its platform to gain exposure for artists, performers, fashion designers, and more. We bring the community together with the artists to educate, provide mutual support, and culturally enhance our community. “We are celebrating Women’s History Month with Art & Charity Series with your support for the arts and celebration.” said gallery owner Brooke Trace.
Mark David Prouse is an Artist, Photographer, and Music Lover. He moved to New York City where he joined Scenic Artists Union Local 829, employed in theater, movies, and finally, television. During the ten years, he worked in the Scenic Department at the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan, where he also managed its large format print shop, he oversaw the painting and graphics for numerous television studio sets and made printed backdrops and art reproductions on canvas for motion pictures. He then "retired" to Ft. Lauderdale, where he turned his attention back to fine art and music. He has recently combined his two greatest passions into a large project celebrating the Women of Popular Music. His acrylic paintings, watercolors, and pencil sketches are creative portraits of his favorite female singers. Like painted collages, many of them incorporate images and narrative illustrations linked to some of their subjects’ songs and lyrics. He has never felt it imperative to devote his attention to any one subject, style, or medium. He finds infinite sources of inspiration in subjects both humble and grand, and this is also true of his photography.
Our featured entertainers are the fabulous Lady Pat and Mary Bell. This dynamic duo will surely please with their debut jazz performance at North Beach Art Gallery. Lady Pat is a recording artist and international Jazz/R&B/Pop vocalist. Mari Bell is an experienced SOFL & NY bandleader and keyboard player. Together they make a fantastic female duo that creates a very special connection with audiences throughout Miami-Dade, Broward County, plus the entire Treasure Coast.
North Beach Art Gallery and North Beach Art and Charity 501C3 are excited to produce this extraordinary event for our community supporting the arts. Tickets are available at the door for a $25 donation, including 2 complimentary beverages and appetizers. Through the support of community businesses, there will be a Silent Auction. We have complimentary parking as well.
