We meet on Mondays from 9.30 - 11am at Heworth Without Community Centre (YO31 0HQ).
This is a invitation to all women in and around York to come and sing for connection...not perfection! Singing Mamas is a space for you to unwind whilst singing beautiful songs from all over the world. “I can’t sing” voices welcome here!
Mothers, Non-Mothers, Pregnant Women, Grandmas, Aunties, Elders, Young’uns - ALL Women* who want to feel uplifted, and connected through singing together, and enjoying tea and cake! We currently have a lovely mix of women who come, at different ages and stages. You are welcome just as you are. Children are also very welcome and are able to witness their mum joyfully singing and soak up the magic, and sometimes join in too!
We sing simple and beautiful songs in a circle of women, creating harmony with our natural voices to express, release and reconnect. No auditions, no sheet music, no solos! We learn by ear - one line at a time. Singing is an amazing tool for calming our nervous system and supporting our mental health. Come and join us for an hour of singing followed by tea and cake ?
Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements/allergies so I can make sure you are included in our tea and cake ?
