About Melanie Hernand-Shine
Melanie Hernand-Shine is a Network Spinal chiropractor, healer, and trauma informed space holder with over 27 years of experience supporting others on their healing journeys. She is the founder of Healing Waves Wellness in Santa Cruz, where her work integrates chiropractic care with a deep understanding of the body’s innate wisdom to heal.
Alongside her clinical practice, Melanie holds sacred circles for women to connect, heal, and transform through the power of the Women’s Temple. Since 2012, she has guided women into deeper embodiment, empowerment, and freedom through these transformative gatherings.
Melanie's passion for healing and awakening stems from her own personal journey. Having faced and overcome profound trauma, depression, anxiety, and disempowerment, she knows firsthand the courage it takes to meet our inner shadows and embrace our full humanity. Her work invites women to feel the entire bandwidth of their being—bringing light to the darkest places, integrating the past, and awakening to their wholeness.
She describes Women’s Temple practices as "clearing the debris from the river, so the river of aliveness can flow freely through the body and mind." That river is the living intelligence that heals. Through gentle yet powerful practices infused with ease, pleasure, and grace, Melanie creates a safe space for the nervous system to unwind, soften, and release old patterns and defenses.
