In this engaging 2-hour session, we'll delve into basic strikes and combinations, using training bags for hands-on practice that truly builds confidence. Plus, we'll cover essential topics like consent, situational awareness, and OODA loop training – empowering you with crucial skills beyond physical techniques.

Presenting Sensei Jen Franklin, a formidable 3rd degree Kenpo Karate black belt holder (she/her). Jen's mastery extends beyond martial arts, embracing certifications in trauma-informed practices, further enriched by her roles as a trauma-informed yoga instructor and dedicated sexual assault crisis advocate. Her multifaceted expertise empowers individuals not only physically but also mentally and emotionally, forging a holistic approach to personal empowerment and safety.
Guiding you through Situational Awareness, mental tactics and planning, including proficiency with non-lethal weapons, is none other than the renowned Stun Gun Jen (she/her). With over a decade's experience as a safety expert and speaker, her expertise lies in empowering individuals with comprehensive knowledge of mindset, situational awareness, threat assessment, and strategic avoidance techniques, all bolstered by the effective use of non-lethal weapons. Stun Gun Jen's teachings make it easier than ever for individuals to fortify their personal protection arsenal.

What kind of COVID precautions are you taking?
We are closely following the guidelines put forth by LA County.
All items used are disinfected before and after class.
Your attendance is your attestation that you are not experiencing any symptoms of illness, signs of a new cough, a temperature, loss of smell or taste, or any other symptoms associated with COVID 19 . You are also attesting that you have not been near anyone who tested positive for COVID 19 within 10 days of attending class.
We ask that if you feel ill the day of class, that you please reschedule your class to the following month. We are happy to credit any ticket that has to be changed or cancelled due to COVID 19 issues.
Is there a minimum age requirement for the class?
Yes. We HIGHLY suggest participants be at least 15 years old due to the adult nature of the subject matter. We try to have a rape crisis counselor on site for support and assistance with resources.
What should I bring to the class?
Dress comfortably, you will be moving around. Shoes are not permitted on the carpet but feel free to use socks if you aren't comfortable barefoot. Storage area is limited, so please plan to travel light. We respectfully ask that you remove your jewelry and watches as well, for your safety and that of your partners.

We have liability forms to complete prior to class. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time.
Can boys or men attend?
At this time, for the comfort of those attending, our classes are exclusively for women and those who identify as female. This workshop is for aimed at the experience of women. If this does not describe you, please reach out to me and I can try to find a class for you.
Can I attend if I'm injured?
We cannot endorse training if injured. Anyone who wants to attend should be cleared by their doctor before attending a class. Please be sure to wear any supports or items that you may need like braces, canes, etc.
