About this Event
As part of the Purple Flag program, you are invited to take part in a co-design process to help make the YCK District feel safer for women and gender-diverse people.
The co-design process comprises of two parts:
1) A group walkshop on Tuesday 16th April, 6-8pm starting at
A 2-hour walk through the precinct where you will be able to share your experiences, where and why you feel unsafe or vulnerable and discuss your ideas for improvements.
Participants who join this walkshop will receive a $40 WISH gift card.
2) A co-design workshop on Thursday 23rd May starting at
A 2-hour workshop with the stakeholders who can help make improvements to the area such as local business owners, local council staff, urban designers, lighting experts and artists. You will bring your lived experience and opinions to this conversation, but no expert knowledge is required.
Participants who join both the walkshop and the co-design workshop will receive an additional WISH gift card of $60 as a thank you for your time.
You are welcome to join only a walkshop or both a walkshop and co-design workshop. However, you can only attend the co-design workshop if you also attend the group walkshop.

About the project
The Office of the 24 Economy Commissioner (OE24HER) is proud to be partnering with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) on the Safer Cities Program.
We are keen to hear from women and gender-diverse people about their experiences of moving through the YCK precinct in Sydney CBD.
YCK is a Purple Flag Precinct which means it’s been accredited as a going-out destination that meets standards of excellence in vibrancy, diversity and safety at night. Read more about Purple Flag here.
Who can join the walkshop?
· All individuals who identify as female or gender diverse
· Aged 18 years or older
· People who frequent the area/s shown on the maps as residents, workers, students or visitors
To ensure everyone gets an opportunity to participate, groups will be restricted to a max of 24 persons per walkshop session
