We are excited to be sharing our biannual Womens Rewilding Gathering with whoever is feeling the call of the wild once again. These 5 day gatherings provide a beautiful opportunity to tap out of the mundane and tap into the therapeutic benefits of being immersed in nature, spending time with fellow women & sharing nourishing meals by the fire.

Come and be empowered to feel confident in the bush through exploring new edges whilst being held by the land. You will experience a deeper connection with the land and develop relationships with the natural abundance all around you while getting in touch with our innately wild origins.

We explore a range of earth skills and nature connection practises that drop us into our senses, allowing us to slow down into bush time and connect with one another in a safe and raw environment.

This Gathering is a 5-day campout in the wild embrace of lush rainforest held by 2 creeks meeting.
There is a potency learning & sharing these practical earth skills with women.
There is a commonality we are share - being women - which creates a beautiful safe space to be vulnerable & go deep in.

A previous & regular attendee of the Women’s Rewilding Gathering shared that her prior experience learning fire by friction in a group consisting of all genders was very different, she found her self pulling back and letting the enthusiastic strong guys do the work. Whereas she shared at the Women’s Gathering learning hand drill, she was able to fully immerse in the skill & be supported by fellow women. I love this feedback because it affirms this trajectory of sharing these physical skills with in womens spaces.
We also had a woman share that she had a lot of resistance entering an all female space, yet found the gathering to be such a safe and inclusive space for her.

Something that we emphasise on whenever teaching these skills is that the way we teach them is very different to a survivalist mentality. Coming from an approach of relationship building, connection to land and recognising our place within ecology. This is not a new way of being at all. In fact it’s really old!

Our land based ancestors shared this deeper relationship of connection with ecology rather than conquering or being seperate.
So these skills are not just practical skills that empower you in the bush, they’re a way of living with nature as a part of nature. They’re a way of getting to know your local ecology in a loving & intimate way. They’re a way of rooting yourself into your ecology so the plants & animals become allies rather than strangers. They’re a way of belonging to the land. A way of being human. All of a sudden a walk through the bush becomes an interactive experience as you recognise plants that you can use to make fire, heal wounds, craft cordage and so forth.

What to expect:

Guided bushwalks in the surrounding rainforest ecology
Wild Foods and Medicines walk & talk: learn safe & ethical foraging & ID various useful plants.
Bird Language: Learn to listen to the land by fine tuning your hearing senses & paying attention to what the birds are revealing.
Shelter building: learn to build a shelter with natural materials
Weaving with plant fibres
Bone & wood craft
Natural string making: learn the process of retting plant fibres & learn to make cordage/string
Fire by friction workshop: be mentored by us on making fire by friction with hand drill bow drill methods.
Learn some basics on camping solo: tips & skills that will ensure your confidence while out bush.
Nature connection practises include barefoot walking, silence in nature, and sit spots.
Fireside songs, meals and sharing
Natural Movement every morning

These gatherings are a balance between learning hands on skills and delving into deep connection to the earth and ourselves.
A powerful energy arises when we gather together in nature, a relaxing of the nervous system as we indulge in the oxytocin around us and within us. So this is an opportunity to nurture yourself and gift yourself that time of nourishment that is so lacking in a woman's life in the modern world whilst simultaneously empowering your wild woman through learning hands on skills of the earth.

All levels of experience welcome, go as deep as you like with each activity.

These gatherings attract women from all walks of life, the age group ranges from 20's to 70's, creating a real village of women with generational wisdom.

This is an off-grid camping gathering. There are no indoor kitchen facilities or electricity. We will have a camp kitchen set up with a gas stove for tea and coffee. We encourage you to bring an eski and your own little camp kitchen set up to make breakfast and lunch more easeful for you.
Whole food dinners will be provided every night, please bring your own snacks/breakfast/lunch. Contact us with any special allergies or dietaries. Vegetarian and vegan options available. We encourage each participant to bring food that doesn't have to be refrigerated unless you bring an eski.

Facilitators

Eva Angophora Founder of Wild Beings.
This will be my 5th year of facilitating Womens Rewilding Gatherings & each time we create that space I fall more in-love with sharing these practical earth-skills in a space of women.
I spent much of the last 7 years living outdoors practising various earth skills such as traditional tanning, friction fire, fibrecraft, wild foods & medicines, animal processing & more. I have sculpted a life based around wild living. My Passion is to share a more connected wholesome culture and provide spaces where people can connect with the Old Ways and incorporate more of these healthy habits into lifestyle choices. In a world that is so estranged from its wild roots, I see the immense value these earth based ways of being have on individuals. Im an ancestral skills enthusiast, deeply in awe of the ancient crafts and skills of our ancestors and most definitely an apprentice to the old ways.

Emma Sanders Arcadian WildCraft
Emma has been nestled in the wild lands of Tasmania for the last few years working as a wilderness guide & running workshops teaching various wildcrafts such as spoon carving, basket weaving & friction fire making. Emma is a very talented craftswoman, spending her free time using her hands to create beautiful things with natural materials around her. She sells her leathercrafted items & handcrafted spoons at various markets. With a deep passion for connection to the land & empowering others to feel confident with their hands, Emma brings a very grounded & gentle essence into these workshops.

"It's hard to grasp into words how powerful this gathering is. 5 days surrounded by women that give nothing but love, support and kindness, women from all different walks of life, women getting drawn to a place to heal to grow and learn on a land that will ground you so gently. After feeling lost for a long time I left feeling like I found my place in this world , driven and inspired to push forward.
To eva and everyone involved i want to thank you so deeply from the heart, this place has shifted me and I know it will for so many others in the years to come." Chelsea
