It's for the Birds
Come flock together at Grace Church's annual Women's Retreat in October. This two-day event starts at Grace on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. where we'll enjoy camaraderie, snacks, drinks and entertainment from local comedian/actress Jen Scott.
We'll reconvene on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington. This year's featured speaker: Rev. Debbie Blue, founding minister at House of Mercy in St. Paul. She's the author of Consider the Birds: A Provocative Guide to Birds of the Bible. You don't have to be a budding ornithologist to love this topic. In her book, Blue highlights 10 birds throughout scripture, explores their significance in both familiar and unfamiliar biblical stories, and discusses how and why they have represented humanity across culture, Christian tradition, art, and contemporary psyche.
Enjoy a great lunch, take a walk, and relax in the natural beauty of Hyland Lake Park. We'll also enjoy a bit of singing and other activities. Suggested donation $50. Registration is open now. Use the Tickets item to register.
