The Women’s Ministry of Our Lady of Lourdes will be collecting hygiene items now through October 19, to be donated to Wellspring, the Women’s Shelter of St. John’s Ministries. Wellspring offers services to women who are homeless, living with mental illness, disabled, facing financial issues or in broken relationships. They provide safety, security and belonging through peer support, personal growth opportunities, resources and referrals so they may heal, connect and grow to be successful and on their feet again.If you would like to donate, a collection tote will be located in the gathering area near the St. John’s box next to the daily chapel. Needed items: travel/personal size shampoo, soaps, deodorant, toothpaste/toothbrushes, dental floss, wet ones, hand warmers, chap stick, band-aids, Kleenex, socks. Individually packaged food items such as granola bars, trail mix, nuts, dried fruit, candy or gum. Not wanted: large bottles of hair products, lotions, make-up, cosmetic bags, mouthwash. (Only new or unopened products are acceptable.) These items will then be packed into gallon-size zip lock bags. Last year we were able to put together over 100 Blessing Bags. The Ladies of Lourdes Women’s Ministry will be putting together these “Blessing Bags” filled with personal hygiene products on Tuesday, October 21. We’ll begin at 6:00 pm with a soup & salad supper from Olive Garden, and then assemble the bags.
