Kara also serves as president of Penquis subsidiaries Rape Response Services, MaineStream Finance, Penquis Development, Inc., Penquis Housing, Inc., and Penquis Mental Health Association. She is a member of the Bangor-area Community Health Leadership Board and Northern Light Acadia Hospital Board of Trustees, and serves as a board and executive committee member for Community Housing Capital, the National NeighborWorks Association, and Alliance for Addiction and Mental Health Services, Maine. Kara is a strong advocate for Maine’s low-income population and a nationally recognized leader in comprehensive community development.
