The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s Women’s Leadership Alliance will host its Annual Celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hotel Capstone.This year’s keynote speaker is Edie Hand, businesswoman, author, filmmaker, and founder of Women of True Grit, a movement that encourages women to share stories of perseverance and purpose. Hand’s message — “The way I see it is we are a True Grit sisterhood to give a hand up to others through Pearls of Hope!” — will inspire attendees to use their experiences to empower others.
Hand has authored more than 25 books and produced numerous television and radio projects through partnerships with Alabama media networks. She is also the founder of the Edie Hand Foundation, which promotes acts of kindness and supports programs for youth and community leaders.
The Women’s Leadership Alliance brings together women from across West Alabama to connect, learn, and celebrate leadership in business and community. The Annual Celebration marks the culmination of the group’s year of programming, including quarterly lunch and learn events.
