This Workshop provides women an Introduction to Carpentry in a peer-supported, encouraging environment, allowing them to work & learn at their own pace. Through an intensive weekend workshop, students will be introduced to the basic tools, skills, and concepts necessary to tackle home renovation and remodeling projects. This course provides an excellent foundation for anyone looking to perform home repairs, tackle large home projects, or contemplate a career in Carpentry.Students will be working on building their own set of saw horses in class, which is theirs to keep!
This Course comes with the option to camp at our wonderful partnering organization Frog Belly Farm.
Only 2.3 miles from the Craft School, and a six minute drive (4 miles) from Central Square in downtown Keene and all its charming shops, Frog Belly Farm camping option includes a family-style farm dinner, evening bonfire, and a wholesome breakfast before classes. The site includes access to indoor toilet/shower facilities and each camper will have a soft spot on the lawn to pitch a tent. The evening will include a bonfire with circle experience designed to create a space to share experiences of the day and connect a bit before the next class.
Meals will be created with local ingredients, grown and sourced from Frog Belly Farm. Breakfast will include baked goods, veggie frittata (with the Farm’s own eggs), tea and/or coffee.
In the event the weather is miserable, campers will be welcome inside to the Frog Belly ‘s cozy den, light a fire, put on a record and sip tea ’til bedtime.
