Women's Hike to Mount Thom & Tongva Peak via Beaudry Loop

For this adventure, we will be heading to the Verdugo Mountains to bag 2 peaks: Mount Thom and Tongva Peak. The Beaudry Loop is a just-under-six mile loop on fire roads in the Verdugo Mountains between Glendale and Burbank. A moderate hike that can be easily overlooked, this loop is a great last-minute hiking getaway that has outstanding views of the city when the air is clear, and decent wildflower shows during the spring months. It’s also one of the best places to get a wide-lens view of the scope of Griffith Park, too.

This trail is an 5.7-mile "loop" with roughly 1519 feet of elevation gain. It is rated MODERATE. There are no reliable water sources on this trail as we will be ascending away from the valley, so please plan on carrying your half-day supply of water with you.

E (Easy) - Suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. Mostly level or with slight incline. Generally less than 4 miles.

M (Moderate) - Generally suitable for novice hikers who want a bit of a challenge. The terrain will involve a moderate incline and may have some steeper sections. Generally 4 to 7 miles.

H (HARD) - This is a strenuous hike that will challenge most hikers. The hike will be longer and steeper AND is deemed strenuous because of elevation gain. Generally 7 to 11 miles.

EH (EXTREMELY HARD) - Only well-conditioned and well- prepared hikers should attempt these hikes. The hike will be strenuous, long and steep, and may include some rock scrambling and challenging terrain. Generally 8 miles or more with EXTREME elevation gain. A REVIEW PROCESS with our team is REQUIRED with no exceptions to be included in this activity.
