Women's Hike - Inspiration Point via Mt Lowe Trail

For this adventure, we will be heading out to the famous Inspiration Point at Echo Mountain. Normally accessed by hikers through the Echo Mountain Trail, we will instead be hiking to this breathtaking lookout point through the Mt Lowe Trail.

Mount Lowe Trail to Inspiration Point is a popular hiking trail in Los Angeles County, California. The trail spans approximately 5.4 miles and is rated as moderate in difficulty. It offers panoramic views of the San Gabriel Valley and the Los Angeles Basin. The trail is well-marked and features a steady incline and decline, making it suitable for hikers of varying skill levels. The trail also passes through a variety of ecosystems, from chaparral to pine forest, providing opportunities to observe local flora and fauna. Despite its proximity to the city, the trail offers a sense of solitude and is a great option for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles.

This trail is a simple 5.4-mile "out and back" with roughly 1,345ft feet of elevation gain. It is also mostly exposed and there are sections where the cliffside can seem daunting if you are afraid of heights. It is rated as moderate.

There are no reliable water sources on this trail as we will not be near any valleys, creeks or springs, so please plan on carrying at least 1.5L of water with you.
