Come join us at Clockwise, Edinburgh Leith for a day dedicated to all things women's health when it comes to oral health! From puberty to pregnancy to menopause, we'll be covering it all. Oral Health experts Ben and Claire will be sharing their knowledge and tips so you can help your female patients navigate through every stage of their life journey. Don't miss out on this informative and empowering event!


Aims:

1. To provide a comprehensive understanding of women's health and oral health, emphasising the intersection between systemic health and oral care across various stages of life

2. To enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers in recognising, managing and preventing women-specific health and oral health issues

3.To raise awareness about the unique healthcare needs of women, including the impact of hormonal changes, pregnancy, menopause and other life stages on oral and general health

4. To encourage the adoption of holistic and integrative approaches to women's healthcare, focusing on preventive measures and patient-centered care


Objectives:

1. Equip participants with knowledge of key women's health issues, including reproductive health, hormonal changes, and their effects on oral health

2. Enable participants to recognise the connection between oral health and overall health in women

3. Enhance diagnostic and clinical skills to identify and manage oral health issues that are unique or more prevalent in women

4. Reinforce the oral health implications of various life stages such as puberty, pregnancy and menopause, and how these stages affect women’s oral health

5. Encourage the implementation of preventive strategies in both oral health and general healthcare, focusing on education, lifestyle modifications and early intervention

6. Encourage dental professionals to communicate more effectively with female patients about their unique health and oral care needs, fostering a comfortable and supportive environment

6.Encourage ongoing learning by staying updated with the latest research and advances in women’s health and oral health
