Our Women's Fly Tying 101 Class is intended to be an introduction to fly tying for women with little to no experience. We will cover essential fly tying materials, tools, and material handling skills. We aim to give you the confidence and skills necessary to whip up a few dozen flies that you will actually fish! Along the way, we hope to inspire a passion to create your own flies and teach you a little something about how we approach flies and fly fishing. Throughout the class, we will tie several flies proven to work in our home waters around Missoula: The Blackfoot, Bitterroot, Clark Fork, and Rock Creek. All materials and tools will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own vise and tools if you have them.
PLEASE NOTE: Attendees must register to attend this four-part class. The class is capped at 8 participants to allow for individualized instruction. Please follow the link to register for this class!
Our fly tying instructor, Noelle Coley, works at Blackfoot River Outfitters as our Store Manager. She can be reached at [email protected] with any questions.
