Have you wanted to try fly fishing but weren’t sure where to start? Join New York Fly Girls for a hands-on, full-day workshop where you’ll learn the art of fly fishing from the ground up.
We’ll cover the essentials—basic gear, fly selection, casting, regulations, and where to fish—with plenty of time to practice on the water. The day wraps up on the stream, putting your new skills into action while having fun.
- Female beginners welcome – no experience needed!
- Equipment provided, or bring your own and we’ll help you get set up.
- What to bring: Lunch and water. You're welcome to bring a snack to share.

- Location: Marcellus Park, 2443 Platt Rd, Marcellus NY 13108
- Ages: 14 and up. Participants 16 and under must be accompanied by a participating, ticketed adult.
- Cost: $25–$30 suggested donation/fee (payable day of).

- Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in; late arrivals may not be admitted.
- Program runs rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or low registration, we will notify participants by email.
- If you can no longer attend, please cancel via Eventbrite or email us so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist.
