About this Event
As the equinox balances day and night, join us for a transformative daylong retreat designed to honor the shadow and light within each of us. This experience invites women to explore the depths of their being through embodied somatic movement, expressive dance, and mindfulness meditation. Together, we will create a sacred container to play with, embrace, and bring pleasure to the shadow aspects of ourselves—those hidden, often unacknowledged parts that hold profound wisdom and creativity.
What to Expect:
- Embodied Somatic Movement: Guided practices to connect with your body’s innate intelligence, releasing tension and opening to the sensations of the present moment.
- Expressive Dance: A joyful, liberating exploration of movement to embody your darkness and light, allowing your body to tell its story without words.
- Mindfulness Meditation: Gentle, grounding practices to cultivate awareness and compassion, helping you meet your shadow sides with curiosity and openness.
- Sisterhood Circle: Share and witness in intimate breakout discussions with a supportive community of women, fostering connection and collective healing.
This retreat is an invitation to celebrate the full spectrum of who you are—light and dark, seen and unseen. Through movement, meditation, and play, you’ll leave feeling more integrated, empowered, and deeply connected to your authentic self.
No prior experience in dance or meditation is required—just an open heart and a willingness to explore. Come as you are, and leave with a deeper sense of wholeness and joy.
Register today to claim your spot in this sacred journey!

RIYAH THOR (she/her) is a somatic dance facilitator, artist, and coach. With over 12 years of experience supporting women one on one, on group dancefloors, and in nature, she has dedicated her life to learning and sharing the art(s) of embodied reconnection so we can all live more fully alive. "At 17, I asked the universe how to heal. I heard one word: “dance”, so I did. This started my movement journey, and eventually led me to discover dance therapy as a practice and career path, and I’ve been dancing ever since."
Riyah studied for 8+ years with Soma Source, a movement-based rites of passage organization, as well as trauma de-escalation training with Katie Asmus. Learn more about Riyah here.
