We are delighted to introduce Dr. Roopinder K. Sandhu, MD, MPH, FHRS, who has recently joined us as the newly appointed Director of the Women’s Cardiovascular Health Initiative and occupies the Martha Brauer Chair in Women’s Cardiovascular Health Research. Additionally, she serves as the Medical Director of the Women’s Cardiovascular Health Clinic.
Dr. Sandhu completed her fellowships in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She holds a Master's in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health and has completed a research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
As a clinician-scientist and Professor of Cardiac Sciences at the University of Calgary, Dr. Sandhu possesses a deep passion for women’s heart health. Her research areas of interest include heart rhythm disorders, cardiovascular epidemiology, and health services.
A native of Calgary, we are elated that Dr. Sandhu has returned home to Calgary after receiving training and practicing elsewhere, to spearhead the Libin Cardiovascular Women's Health Initiative.
