INTRODUCTION:
Women’s Bird Photo-walk at Pulicat Lake is organized by Madras Photo Bloggers especially for the women. It’s time to step out of the four walls after lockdown and an opportunity to explore, capture the moments around. With camera in your hand, capture the moments of your interest. It’s a great opportunity not only to build a network among women photographers but also interact with mentors and brands to clear your clarifications.
Pulicat Lake is the second largest brackish water lake and also a bird sanctuary in India, the exotic barrier island of Sriharikota, which divides the lake from the Bay of Bengal and is home to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre and several commercial fisheries. The lagoon encompasses the Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary. The shallow lagoon is known for its diversity of aquatic birds, 15,000 greater flamingos are reported to visit the lagoon along with flamingos, falcons, pelicans, kingfishers, herons, painted storks, spoonbills and ducks.
Ms. Vasanthy Srikanth, Wildlife photographer and mentor of the Madras Photo Bloggers Wonder Women’s group will assist the participants to photograph and document the stories of the birds which are seen busy building and maintaining their nests. Also, the team will help to capture candid and detailed images of various birds. The Best image of the photo walk will be featured for display in Madras Photo Bloggers Website and Social Media Handles!
