Women Writers in Early Modern London (Walking Tour)

Are you interested in women’s writing or London history? Join the Society for Neo-Latin Studies for this historical walking tour of London and discover the stories and works of influential female writers who made their mark on the vibrant literary scene of the city.

The tour will start at St Bride's Church, Fleet Street, and take us through Newgate and Smithfield before ending at Charterhouse. Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore the rich heritage of women writers in London!

This tour has been developed by a team of experts who are researchers working on Latin, the Early Modern period, and London, all of whom are part of the Society for Neo-Latin Studies. We will provide modern English translations of all the Latin and English texts discussed, and a handy booklet will point out even more points of interest around the city!

Accessibility:

This tour will cover approximately 1.2 miles and take around 1.5 hours, travelling at a slow-medium pace with several stops. Please contact the organisers if you would like full accessibility details.
