About this Event
Women Who Walk, Hawthorn Parklands twilight walk with Victoria Walks and The Y (Boroondara).
Join us for a fun, social 5km walk through some lovely green spaces in Hawthorn.
Who is this event for?
These walks are for women who live, work or study in the City of Boroondara.
This twilight walk is the perfect opportunity to unwind, connect with nature, and meet like-minded women from your area through a shared love of walking! Come alone, or bring a female friend or family member.
This walk is just over 5km in length and should take 60-90 minutes to complete (but allow 2 hours!)
Jane from Victoria Walks will lead this walk, and female volunteers from The Y will also be in attendance.
Meeting point: We'll be meeting at the Barton Street entry to St James Park (near the corner of Burwood Road) from 5.15pm.
See point # of this map, which shows the route. (UPDATE MAP with Points of Interest)
Walk description
This walk is approximately 5km in length and uses the street network to visit five lovely local parks in the Hawthorn area.
This is an easy-intermediate walk. The walk route is mostly flat and quiet, however we will cross two bigger roads (using pedestrian lights). We will start and finish at St James Park, which has some steeper paths (although these can be avoided).
Please note that we may encounter people riding bicycles on shared paths and off-leash dogs in the parks.
Transport options for getting to and from the event?
Driving: Street parking is available in Barton Street.
Public transport: St James Park (the start and finish point) is very close to Hawthorn Train Station and even closer to the #75 Tram along Burwood Road (get off at St James Park, stop 25).
