About Our Guest Speaker:
Abby Johnston is The 19th’s partnerships editor and the director of the 19th News Network. She also edits The 19th's health, economy and climate coverage. Abby spent four years as The 19th’s editorial director, leading coverage that won The 19th its first Edward R. Murrow Award and Online Journalism Award. Prior to The 19th, she edited and managed digital strategy for the Texas Observer, Frontline and Texas Monthly. She is a graduate of the University of Texas — where she has served as an adjunct professor — and the University of Missouri.
