About this Event
A Women's Support Group on Emotion Regulation
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by your emotions, reacted more strongly than you wanted to, or wondered why some feelings seem impossible to switch off?
Many of us were never taught how emotions work. Instead, we learned to suppress them, ignore them, or judge ourselves for having them. Yet emotions are not signs of weakness. They are messages from our minds and bodies, designed to help us understand our needs, experiences, and boundaries.
In this supportive and non-judgmental group session, we will explore why emotions can sometimes feel so intense and how stress, past experiences, and our nervous system influence the way we respond to life's challenges.
Together, we will discuss:
• Why emotions can feel overwhelming at times
• The Window of Tolerance and how it affects daily life
• Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn responses
• How emotions show up in the body
• Practical techniques for emotional regulation and grounding
• Ways to respond to emotions with greater understanding and self-compassion
Through psychoeducation, reflection exercises, and group discussion, participants will gain a deeper understanding of their emotional experiences and leave with practical tools to support themselves during difficult moments.
No previous experience is required. This group is open to women seeking greater emotional awareness, self-understanding, and connection with others.
