About this Event
Women of Valor: Domestic Violence Program

Join us for the Women of Valor’s Domestic Violence Program, an empowering and compassionate initiative designed to provide immediate support and long-term healing for those affected by domestic violence. The Act-Now Initiative directly addresses the complex and pervasive issues of physical, sexual, and psychological harm that countless individuals endure.

The Women of Valor is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where survivors can find solace and strength. Our education and wellness programs are rooted in trauma-informed peer support and self-advocacy, offering a holistic approach to recovery. We understand that each journey is unique, and our programs are designed to meet individuals where they are, whether in the midst of crisis or navigating life beyond it.

Our Approach:

  • Trauma-Informed Peer Support: Our trained peers, who have lived experiences, offer understanding and empathy that can only come from someone who has walked a similar path. They provide a non-judgmental space to share, heal, and grow.
  • Self-Advocacy: Empowering individuals to take control of their own lives and make informed decisions is at the heart of our initiative. We equip participants with the tools and knowledge they need to advocate for themselves and their rights.
  • Education and Wellness Programs: Our comprehensive programs cover a range of topics including safety planning, emotional wellness, and practical skills for daily living. We focus on the whole person, addressing physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Important Note: While our programs offer crucial support and resources, they are not intended to replace professional counseling. Instead, they serve as a valuable complement to other therapeutic interventions, providing additional layers of support.

Who Should Attend:

  • Individuals currently experiencing domestic violence.
  • Survivors looking for ongoing support and community.
  • Allies and advocates seeking to understand and support loved ones affected by domestic violence.

Why Attend: By participating in the Domestic Violence program, you become part of a community that believes in the power of resilience and recovery. You will gain access to resources, education, and a supportive network that can help you navigate the challenges you face. Most importantly, you will be reminded that you are not alone, and there is hope for a brighter, safer future.

Join us in taking a stand against domestic violence and empowering survivors to reclaim their lives. Together, we can make a difference.
