While progress has been made in recent years to raise awareness and address inequities that Women of Color encounter in the workplace, there is more work to be done. Research shows that women of color experience exclusion, pay disparity and are denied upward mobility at astonishing rates. The collective efforts of women of color and allies is necessary to advance progress in addressing workplace inequities and advancement opportunities.

“Thank You for Answering the Call” is an event to recognize and celebrate the advances made by women of color while affirming the collective commitment to understanding and addressing the unique experiences, obstacles, and triumphs that woman of color encounter in their professional journeys. It is a dedicated effort to amplify the voices, share our stories, and to create pathways to progress and irreversible sustained success.

Event Objectives:

· Celebrate progress made, thank and recognize women of color and allies for their accomplishments.

· Shed light on the barriers that persist and to illuminate the pathways toward progress and upward mobility

· Call to action for organizations, leaders, and allies alike, to come together, learn and collaborate in our collective pursuit for workplace and economic equity

· Amplify initiatives that address the wealth gap and economic success: Home ownership, entrepreneurship and income self-sufficiency models

· Highlight strategies that address social challenges that prevent working class women of color from advancing along their career journey

· Discuss new ideas and strategies for leadership, mentorship and coaching
