The Day Stage on Saturday will once again feature a diverse selection of artists! First up at noon is Megan Dooley. Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan- Megan Dooley has been performing regionally, nationally, and abroad for 25 years. Her music is an intelligent blend that bridges the gaps of soul, blues, folk and americana with strong vocal melodies and inimitable professional whistling too!
At 1pm, The Instigators, a two-woman band featuring Joyce Hagerman (guitar, vocals, mandolin) and Suzanne Levy (guitar and vocals) will take the stage. Founded over ten years ago the perform folk, country, blues and traditional music.
The Happendance Professional Company are joined by contemporary music ensemble Aurora & Antheia and spoken word artist Lisa Sarno to offer a taste of their upcoming collaboration, Threading Moonbows at 2pm. Dance, music, and spoken word are woven together to create a luminous performance of sound, word, and movement that celebrates wonder, reflection, hope, and connection under moonlit skies.
Last, but certainly not least, Lansing’s own Women’s Chorus, Sistrum, will offer choral music that will inspire, empower, and entertain at 3pm.
And back by popular demand - Lesbo Bingo! When I say Lesbo, You SAY BINGO! Ames and Callie Mc2 bring their widely popular Ann Arbor Lesbo Bingo to Women in the Arts Festival from 4-5:30 on Saturday, November 9th! This Bingo for dykes and dykes at heart will have you laughing and daubering your way to fabulous prizes. Daubers and bingo cards are provided, but we also know lesbians don't like to be bossed around, so if you have a Dauber preference, you do you! Come for the comedy and the cat sculpture prize you never knew you needed. Stay for the bad puns and the joy of good old fashioned game play with a great community!
