Join us for a lively conversation that celebrates the artistic process: the achievements and challenges of women in the arts, looking at the past, present, and future, as well as a premiere screening of a film featuring Yuan Yuan Tan.
Martha Sakellariou is a Greek-born, Palo Alto based visual artist, currently in a long-term residency at the Cubberley Artist Studio Program. In her work, she embraces diverse media including installation, dance and literature as well as collective and participatory practices to explore themes on female identity and domesticity.
Kathryn Roszak is Artistic Director of Danse Lumiere and has been presented by the Martha Graham Dance Company in New York City and is the producer of the film Women at the Top recently screened by the Lark Theatre in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mary Chun is an opera conductor and fierce advocate of new work.
Yuan Yuan Tan is a Chinese ballerina, a former Principal Dancer with San Francisco Ballet, and widely considered one of the best ballerinas of her generation will participate by recording.
This program is co-presented by the Art Center and Danse Lumiere and supported in part by John and Susan Diekman and the Friends of Danse Lumiere
