We are thrilled to invite you to join us in a powerful and engaging evening dedicated to the women of Sudan.
The event will showcase the history of women's activism in Sudan, as well as highlighting how women have faced and countered gender-based violence (GBV) by providing a platform for survivors to share their stories. In light of the ongoing war, we will also discuss the crucial role and transformative work of women-led civil society organisations (CSOs) in Sudan working to combat GBV and how your contribution will help support them.
A highlight of the evening is the screening of the acclaimed documentary "Heroic Bodies" by renowned director Sara Sulieman. This powerful film explores the development of women’s rights in Sudan through unique archival material and compelling interviews with activists sharing their stories. "Heroic Bodies" also sheds a light on the positive changes in recent years in Sudan and how women have driven progress and created positive change across multiple sectors.
The evening will conclude with a Q&A session with Sara Sulieman, offering a chance for a deeper dive into the themes and stories explored in "Heroic Bodies."
