Entwistle - Wayoh Reservoir - Jumbles Country Park - Turton Tower - Entwistle

GRADE: MODERATE

Distance: 12km

Max elevation: 258m

Total ascent: 271m

Welcome to Freshwalks and our second Women In Property netwalking collaboration event of 2022. Our plan is to head to the small Lancashire village of Entwistle, north of Bolton and on the Clitheroe train line (by special request).

We start the day at the Strawbury Duck pub next to the station and head through woodland before following the edges of Wayoh and then Jumbles reservoirs. After an hour and a half, we should reach the charming cafe at Jumbles Country Park, a decent picnic opportunity around midday . Our return trip takes us past Turton Tower, along the Witton Weaver's Way and finally past Turton & Entwistle reservoir to land back at the Strawbury Duck between 2.30pm and 3pm where you'll be able to order some food (included in the ticket price) to end the day in style.

Walkers coming from Manchester can take the 09:41 train from Manchester Victoria to arrive in Entwistle at 10:17. We also invite walkers to join us for a coffee at Starbucks (inside the station) from 09:15 onwards.

The walk will start soon after the Manchester train lands in Entwistle at around 10:20.

If heading to Entwistle direct, please aim to arrive by 10:00 so you can be ready - car parked and boots laced - in good time.

Hope you can join us.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

An event pack will be sent out at least 72 hours before the walk. This should answer most things but feel free to email [email protected] with any questions you may have. If you've not received the pack by this time, check your email junk or spam and then contact us. Receiving this pack is essential as it includes important disclaimers and health and safety information.

What's the refund policy?

Please take a little look at our refund policy here:

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you're fine as you are. We keep track of the attendees and check you off on arrival. However, if you have a confirmation email saved onto your phone, this may be useful on the rare occasion that there are any issues.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

If you can no longer make it, please be sure to contact us with at least 24 hours notice. We try to be as accommodating as possible and understand that work commitments may pop up. Therefore, if you do need to transfer your ticket to a colleague, please contact us with their full details so we can organise the transfer in good time including the signing of the relevant legal disclaimers.
