Welcome to Freshwalks and for our latest Women in Property collaboration event, we're heading to Disley and Lyme Park.
Route description
This circular parkland walking route starts and finishes in Disley which lies in the north east corner of Cheshire, between the Cheshire Plains and the lower slopes of the Pennines and the Peak District. We leave Disley station, enter Lyme Park and climb up towards The Cage, an iconic former hunting lodge which dates back to 1580. This lofty perspective affords tremendous panoramic views across South Manchester and back towards the city. We’ll then drop into the Park for quick refreshments and a toilet stop before heading further uphill along the Gritstone Trail to the highest point of the route, close to Bow Stones. Thereafter, it’s a gentle descent back towards Disley where we’ll head to The Ram’s Head next to the station for optional food and refreshments.

Schedule: We intend to meet at the rear of Disley Station from 09:15 onwards and start the walk no later than 09:30. We should return to The Ram's Head in Disley around 13:00 where guests are invited to join us for an optional (please choose the appropriate Walk + Lunch ticket). We'd expect the lunch service to have concluded by 14:30.
Parking: You can park in the pub car park though will need to validate your parking upon your return at the end of the walk.
Public transport: Please take the 08:52 train from Manchester Piccadilly calling at Stockport 09:05 and arriving in Disley 09:24
Toilets: None at start but we plan to stop for a coffee and toilets about an hour into the walk
Dogs: Please note that though dogs are welcome on the walk (ought to be kept on leads) they aren't allowed inside our allocated dining area back at the pub. The pub is dog-friendly and you'll still be able to come in for a drink and food in the bar area.
Don't forget, you will need to wear some appropriate footwear and bring a bottle of water but we'll send out detailed information in the week before the walk.

You can self-manage a refund (minus platform fees) with 7 days notice via the Eventbrite app.
We'll transfer your place to a future Women In Property walking event given 24 hours notice.
