About this Event
Welcome to the Women+ networking event, hosted by Indianapolis Press Club Foundation!
Date: October 14
Time: 6:30-8pm
Location: Guggman Haus Brewery, 1701 Gent Ave.
The goal of this recurring event is to create a networking, skill building and socializing community designed to lift up women and non-binary journalists in Indianapolis. We celebrate successes and help each other through times of struggle. It is open to any woman, female identifying or non-binary person working in journalism.
The theme this time is the tough stuff: Money and hard conversations. Zina Kumok, financial advisor and marketing manager for C.H. Douglas & Gray Wealth Management, and Hayleigh Colombo, senior government accountability reporter for the IndyStar, will be our featured speakers. They'll each give short presentations (focused on finances/investing and negotiating salaries and other benefits) and will answer questions from attendees.

FAQS:
How often does IPCF host these events?
Quarterly.
Are they in the same location every time?
No. We like moving around the city. If you know of a place willing to work with nonprofits to host events, let us know!
Can journalism students come?
Yes! Guggman Haus is all ages.
Can editors/managers come?
Yes!
Can people who don't work in journalism come?
These gatherings are designed specifically for women+ in journalism to connect, learn, and grow together. To maintain the event’s focus, we kindly ask that those in non-journalism roles refrain from registering. Instead, we encourage you to build relationships with local journalists in other ways like emails and coffee meetups.
Is the topic/theme the same every time?
No — we switch it up every time. If you have suggestions for something you'd like to see covered, let us know!
Will there be food and drink?
Yes! Here are Guggman Haus' food and drink menus.
Can I give feedback and share ideas?
Absolutely! We share a feedback form after each event so you can tell us your thoughts and what you want to see in future events. Don’t want to wait? Email us at [email protected].
