About this Event
Women in Cyber Wales is part of the Cyber Wales Group. The meetings provide a valuable way for women working, or hoping to work, in the cyber industry to meet and support each other. Our next event is taking place in person in Cardiff, with an online (Teams) option for those who aren't able to join us in person. You don't have to live or work in Wales to attend.
Our hosts for this event are Cardiff University, and the meeting will take place between 2-4pm, following by networking and refreshments for those of you who are able to attend in person, from 4-6pm.
Our speakers will include Steph Aldridge, Director of NeuroCyber, who is involved with a variety of initiatives, including a UK / US skills network; our generous host Dr Yulia Cherdantseva, Reader at Cardiff University, who will tell us about the Hartree Centre, who provide support and advice to businesses on the use of AI; and Ms Auhood Al Ali, who works in the CEO office of Etisalat, UAE, one of the biggest telecoms companies in UAE, and who is working with Women in Cyber in the region. Last but not least, we are lucky to also have Debi McCormack of The Cyber Scheme, who will talk about how to progress your career in the sector.
Further details on speaker topics will be shared in the coming weeks.
Provisional timings: Arrive 1.45pm for in person attendees for a prompt 2pm start. Main meeting to close at 4pm, then refreshments will be provided for those who attend in person with time for networking.

Steph Aldridge: With a background in technology, I am a creative problem solver, a dynamic connector, and a big-picture thinker with the end user in mind. I have a real passion for neurodiversity, and the cybersecurity industry is where this passion is being delivered. I firmly believe in the principle of 'Nothing About Us, Without Us.'
Bridging the gap between cybersecurity's demand for more professionals and supplying that demand by building pipeline, engaging in educational initiatives, crafting event content and agendas is how I landed at CSE Connect as Co-Director as UK Chair of their International Diversity Special Interest Group [SIG] made up of academics and inclusion networks building that diverse future into cyber.
Diagnosed with ADHD in late 2022, I am open to helping companies simplify processes, offering a unique perspective. I connect with industry experts to support internal conversations for me and you. Bring me a problem to solve, and I'll have an idea you haven't thought of yet, unless you're my amazing daughter and just beat me to it.
In my role as Director at NeuroCyber, I helped coordinate the UK's first Neurodiversity: Autism into Cyber Event. This initiative galvanized the industry youth, carers, teachers, and parents to start and shine a light on the diversity of thought in the UK Cyber sector. Ask yourself this - What is diversity to me? I think it's interacting with someone who doesn't think, look, sound, or feel like you do. Inclusion is a verb, an action.
