About this Event
FORGING STEEL: THE FIELD BLADE
This class is limited to 8 students and there are no refunds or transfers for tuition. There needs to be a minimum of 5 students for this course to run.
One of the most important tools a medic can have in the field is a reliable blade. In an austere environment, a sharp knife can be used in everything from camp survival skills to medical procedures and even self defense in an emergency.
Austin bladesmith James Brock will guide students through a 2-day course on making a field blade that is multi-purpose, and will be forged to fit the hand to be easily carried in a medic kit, day pack or supply pouch.
Prior blacksmith experience is not required for this course, and the course will be limited to 8 students to ensure a low student to teacher ratio with plenty of hands-on training in the art of bladesmithing.
