Women circle - Living According to Our Cycle

In this circle I would like to explore with you how could we support ourselves to be able to follow rhythm of our female bodies. We live within a system that was made by men for men and doesn't consider our different needs as women (to be honest it took me more than 30 years to fully realize this and to start to look for alternatives!). I would like to especially focus on the premenstrual and menstrual phase that tends to be the more challenging part of our cycle because the current system doesn't support us to experience it naturally at all. So we override our needs again and again until the body eventually says stop in various ways.
In the words of Kate Northrup in Do Less: "We expect ourselves to be in perpetual summer/early autumn. We ask for the harvest all year round.
Our bodies asks us to have a break, and we feel guilty. We beat ourselves up for rest. We feel terrified to tell our families and communities when we don't know what is next in our careers or lives because we fall off the linear path of success and take a detour into a fertile void.
We boldly opt out of the system to create one that works for us, and then we work ourselves to the bone, following the model that we wanted to escape the first place. (...)
The answer is supporting it within ourselves, in our daily lives and our homes.
Because the only way to create new system is to be it."
QUESTIONS TO ASK:
* What are the most authentic needs of my female bodymind regardless the outer expectations during my cycle?
* Do I allow myself to feel them fully? If not what are the biggest blocks preventing me to feeling and owning them?
* What could I do (or not do) to have my needs met?
* How could we support each other as women in creating new life rhythm, new system?
I am very excited to cocreate with you new pathways how to enjoy living in a female body and welcome its natural rhythm!
*This will be the very last sharing circle in 27 Thomas Street as we are moving out of the house the next month! * We gonna have a special host – Jenna Yates who spend 3 years in community in Columbia learning various techniques of healing alongside traditional psychotherapy. Jenna is very passionate about periods and has her incredibely powerful story to share.
