This is your opportunity to learn about Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County’s annual Women+ Build! Whether you’ve been a Women+ Build volunteer for years or are interested in picking up a hammer for the first time, we’d love to have you stop by and meet kindhearted and service-oriented individuals like yourself. You can also register to build with us this September!This event is open to everyone — past and future builders and their supporters, partners, spouses, friends, and neighbors. What is Women+ Build?
Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County’s mission is to expand affordable housing opportunities by partnering with people in our community.
Women+ Build is an annual fundraiser, volunteer opportunity, and construction blitz build centered around teams of women+. Women+ builders register for a team and commit to raising $300 before joining their team for a volunteer day on-site. All funds raised support the costs of building materials for two homes to be built with two Habitat families.
No prior construction experience is necessary! We welcome everyone with open arms. This kick-off event is your chance to make a lasting impact, meet new friends, and create lasting memories.
The dates for this year’s Women+ Build event are Wednesday through Saturday, September 4-21, 2024.
When and Where is Kick-Off?
Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Master Rental—3704 Jonathan Dr, Bloomington, IN 47404.
What To Expect at Kick-Off
Start learning about Habitat’s Women+ Build from the moment you arrive:
• Meet Habitat Women+ Build staff, volunteers, team leaders, and crew leaders
• Take part in the quick and easy scavenger hunt and raffle
• Find out about the fundraising element
• Sign up for optional skills training opportunities
• Meet the actual families who will own the houses you will build
• Visit the online volunteer registration station
• Enjoy La Poblana food truck and frozen delights from Rasta Pops
